In 1938, Eric Rainsford established a business manufacturing surgical equipment for the armed services. The Rainsford manufacturing business developed rapidly, expanding production to include many household name appliances such as mirrors, blinds, seat belts child restraints. By the 70’s the Rainsford enterprise had expanded to include automotive components manufacturing facilities in Adelaide, Lisarow, Gosford and Melbourne.
The Rainsford family held a number of world wide patents and a great eye for quality and detail. These attributes built the Rainsford reputation of manufacturing excellence.
In 1981 the Rainsford Family applied their manufacturing skills to the ‘SUMI’ range of Electric Stackers, since that time the product has earned an enviable reputation in Australia and Asia. The ‘SUMI’ product is Australian tough delivering outstanding performance and reliability.
In the 21st century the Rainsford Family are continuing the tradition with the design, manufacture and distribution of materials handling products –SUMI Pedestrian Forklifts and MAX Ride-on Forklifts through TASK Australia.
